Thursday Treks are group led walks or bikes over the year-round and seasonal routes. The treks start at 5:45 p.m. at the designated start point (please be there at least 15 minutes early to preregister). Walks will be cancelled only in the case of severe thunderstorm or tornado warnings. See the year-round / seasonal list above for additional details of the walks.

 Mission Statement

  		Volkssporting Worldwide Information Packet Top
A volksmarch is a leisurely walk through a scenic or an historic area over a premarked route. Walks are non-competitive and participants walk, jog, or run at their own pace. It is an excellent activity for the entire family. All who complete the course are eligible for an award upon payment of the registration fee. Other volkssports include biking, cross-country skiing, and swimming. Many volkssporters participate in the event and distance recording programs, where a special card is stamped to indicate number of events completed or distance traveled. This card is used by thousands of cooperating clubs worldwide. The word volksmarch comes from the german, and is translated as "People's walk". Here in the USA, the spellings "folksmarch" or "folkswalk" are sometimes used to get the sense of the word "people", or "folks".
