Yeah,
the pre-rendered stuff is amazing, but the game looses points for hardly
tapping the PS2s real-time capabilities. Considering that the
backdrops are all pictures, I was hoping for DOA2-level character
modeling. Alas this is not the case. The characters have detailed
faces, but their fingers are still odd wedges. |

Orchestral
stuff that fits very well. Very atmospheric. |
Sound
FX: 5/5 |

The
stabbing sounds have real impact. Other sounds are also quite
good. It would have been nice if there was some sort of surround
mode though. There are 3 sound settings that can be used, though
I'm not completely sure what the difference is between them. |
Play
Control: 3/10 |
|
Why
on earth doesn't the movement correspond to the screen!? Forget
playing this at normal difficulty. The control can be frustrating,
disorienting and slightly sluggish. On the easy difficulty
setting, it's not as big of a problem. |
Frustration
Factor: 5/10 (10 being the worst) |
|
On
normal difficulty, this would rank a 9 or 10 for a Frustration
Factor. On easy difficulty the game isn't nearly so aggravating,
but the control still diminishes the enjoyment. Healing herbs are
limited in number. There's little if any replay value for this game,
and it only takes around 5 hours to finish. |
