Amazingly
detailed environments and characters, coupled with incredible (if
gory) cinema scenes rendered before your eyes make MGS2 a definite
winner visually. |
Music:

Harry
Gregson-Williams (composer for The Rock) did the main theme and it
shows, with an incredibly professional and immediately memorable
sound. The rest of the game has different types of music, but
everything fits wonderfully. |
Sound

Everything
is a perfect fit, from that classic sound of an enemy alerted to
the top-notch voice acting. |
Play
Control: 5/10 |
|
The
control is OK at best. All of the annoyances from the first game
are still here. The use of the analog buttons on the PS2 is a good
idea, but tough to consistently use accurately. The first-person
view is difficult to use quickly. |
Frustration
Factor: 5/10 (10 being the worst) |
|
The
game has several difficulty settings from Very Easy to Extreme.
There don't seem to be any story variations between difficulty
levels, so everyone should find a level that suits them. The
controls can be frustrating at times, and the constant stealth
required can make the game more stressful than fun sometimes.
Getting all of the enemy dog-tags (by holding-up every enemy at
every difficulty level) is more than I think most players can
handle without smashing a controller or two. |
