Mr. N64's Breakdown of All Star Baseball '99's Game Elements:

Graphics:
5 out of 5: Absolutely the best graphics I have ever seen in a baseball game. Probably the best I've seen so far on the N64 as well.

Music:

1 out of 5: There's only one brief tune (on the menu screen), and it's annoying.

Sound FX:

4 out of 5: The play by play is good but repetitive. The murmur of the crowd is realistic, but doesn't react to the action in a realistic or convincing manner. Overall, the atmosphere isn't quite captured by the sound effects.

Play Control:

6 out of 10: The use of the C Buttons is excellent. Even so, it's quite possible to execute the wrong action at a critical moment. Batting can be a little too difficult sometimes.

Frustration Factor:

4 out of 10 (10 being the worst): All Star Baseball '99 provides true to life, slow-paced baseball. This can make the game somewhat boring at times. Batting is tough enough that hits can be few and far between. The control isn't quite good enough to prevent slip-ups during a critical play, which can be upsetting.
