Today's theme: old memories

I remember back in high school hearing people talking about Creation versus 
Evolution.
Did God create the world in 4004 BC or was it created billions of years ago.
Anyway, one rather clever argument I remember was that when Jesus turned 
water into wine, wine has to be fermented from grapes that need to be grown 
and aged over time. So in a sense Jesus created something "new" that was 
already "old". Therefore, it follows, God created the world in 4004 BC and 
made it already "old". That is, He created it with ancient fossils and stuff 
in the ground that only appear to be millions of years old.

Anyway, a counter argument to that is called Thursdayism, which states that 
the world was actually created last Thursday and that we were all created 
with memories and old worn out stuff at that time. We only think 
everything's older than that.

Hmm ... well I'm confused.

Anyway, I picked three songs this week which I think are the oldest / 
earliest songs I can actually remember from when they originally came out, 
all from about 1958 - long before last Thursday - or so I thought :-)

I remember back then my maternal grandfather, who I was named after (and he 
was named after his maternal grandfather - so I'm sort of "the third" - sort 
of), went into an old age home and we got his old radio.
As a kid I expected it would pick up old radio stations, after all, when you 
play an old phonograph it plays old records, right?
I was totally confused when we turned it on and got WDGY, a local top 40 
rock and roll station. What's the deal with that?

I am so easily confused - even to this day :-)

And it all seems like just one week ago - wait maybe it was - sort of.
