07/18/2024 [1 of 3] San Francisco (Be Sure to Wear Flowers in Your Hair), Scott McKenzie (05/13/1967) This week's theme: The Summer of Love (1967) Groovy, man, groovy! I can dig it! Far out! ****************************************************** Wow, man, this place is crazy! I just got here a couple of weeks ago and have been dropping acid ever since! I've been so out of it, I even thought Gov. Reagan was president for a while. (I sure liked him in "Bedtime for Bonzo"). And later that some black guy named Obama, or something, was president! Unreal! Imagine - a black guy as president! And instead of people talking to each other like normal human beings, everybody was walking around using these little walkie-talkie gizmos! Kind of like in that the movie "The President's Analyst"! How crazy is that! Anyway ... Wait, .. What? ... 2024? No man, it's 1967 - like I said, I just got here a couple of weeks ago. Really, ... it's 2024? You mean I've been trippin' steady on acid for over 50 years! Guess that explains my gray hair. I always thought that was just a side affect of all the drugs. (I guess in a way it is.) Oh, well. Has anything important or interesting happened since then? How do I get back to 1967? I think I left the water running. Hey, it's not too late for me to register for the draft is it? I think I might have missed that. Is that a problem? By the way, man, can you spare some change? ****************************************************** DISCLAIMER! I want to be perfectly clear I was NEVER in Haight-Ashbury in 1967. and I have NEVER taken Hallucinogenic drugs in my entire life. <-or-> I did those things and I just can't remember them (!!!) After all, you know what they say, "If you can remember the 1960s, you weren't really there". Wait, ... I wasn't at Woodstock either, was I? No, I don't think so. Did it rain a lot there? Where is Woodstock exactly. ****************************************************** Summer of Love From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Summer_of_Love Counterculture of the 1960s From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Counterculture_of_the_1960s Peace symbol From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Peace_symbols#Peace_symbol San Francisco (Be Sure to Wear Flowers in Your Hair) From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/San_Francisco_(Be_Sure_to_Wear_Flowers_in_Your_Hair) The President's Analyst (movie) From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_President%27s_Analyst ****************************************************** Unfortunately, on the flip side of reality: Long, hot summer of 1967 From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Long,_hot_summer_of_1967 "The long, hot summer of 1967 refers to the more than 150 race riots that erupted across major cities in the United States during the summer of 1967." ****************************************************** Stay Jazzed, man! And keep the faith, baby! Groovy! Far out! There's a lot going on in it that's not aparent the first time through. It's kind of like one of those optical illusions where you see it - but you don't really see it - at least not at first. Just a feeling, not sure how to explain it better than that :-) ****************************************************** Checkout my: Psychic Hippie Advisor (Web Page Version) He's so far out - he's back in again! http://winternet.com/~swezeyt/fun/hippie.htm Just ask him any yes or no question - then press the button to get his advice.
