Ya, okay, I almost slept through it again too - like every year - but 
somebody must think it's a big deal - they've had it every year since 1940. 
Did you buy your "Skipper Pin" yet? They're only five bucks.


I was thinking - you know - I think surfing is banned in Minnesota - by 
state law - on all 10,000 lakes - I might be wrong about that - but I think 
so - okay, I'm not real sure - but it could be - okay, okay, maybe not - but 
it might be.

Now normally I'm pretty "libertarian" about things like that - if people 
want to surf in Minnesota - I say "well, go ahead, I'm okay with that".

But I think the state wants to keep that "beach bum" surfer riff-raff off 
our beautiful beaches. I've seen all those old 1960s beach movies - I know 
what goes on. (Okay, maybe I haven't seen ALL of those movies).

Did you know that the World Surf League has NEVER ONCE even considered 
holding their annual surfing championship competition here in Minneapolis?

NOT ONCE! - NOT EVER!

What? Like we're not GOOD ENOUGH for that crowd?

Well I say, the heck with them and the board they paddled in on.

I'm sick and tired of Minneapolis always getting dis'ed.

I'm sorry but "Minnesota nice" only goes so far.

I think it'd be a great add on to the Aquatennial. I might even go if they 
had it - Ya, okay probably not.

What's the deal?

So I'm starting a campaign.

Help me continue to keep surfing out of Minnesota.

My goal is to raise a million dollars, some of which will go toward keeping 
Minnesota surfer free.

So if you feel as strongly about this as I do ... well, you know what to do.

And remember - no contribution is too big.

We'll show'em.
