(05/28/2020) **************************************************************** We passed a pretty grim milestone this week. 100,000 Americans dead from Covid 19. Compare that with some past American disasters: Johnstown Flood (1889) 2,208 San Fran earthquake (1906) 3,000 Pearl Harbor attack (1941) 2,400 WTC (9/11/2001) 2,996 Hurricane Katrina (2005) 1,836 Covid 19 deaths (so far) 100,000 I don't understand why some people think this is no big deal and that it's basically over. The meter is still running. We're still in the middle of this disaster. Just because it hasn't gotten here much doesn't mean it isn't going to. And just because you haven't gotten it yet doesn't mean you're immune to it. Don't panic, but don't be stupid either. "The death of one man: that is a catastrophe. One hundred thousand deaths: that is a statistic!” - Kurt Tucholsky - 1925 ****************************************************************
