08/22/2024 ****************************************************** Milt Famey Joke Once upon a time, back in the 1950s, there was a young baseball player named Milt Famey of the Milwaukee Braves. Milt was a phenomenal pitcher with a 90 MPH curve ball. But he liked to drink and frequently downed a few beers between each inning during games to quench his thirst. He liked to stack up the empty bottles in the dugout to keep track of how many he'd had. Anyway, by the last inning of the deciding game of the World Series, Milt was so drunk he ended walking every batter. Eight straight pitches - eight straight balls. He walked in the tying run and the winning run thereby losing the game and the series. A reporter asked the coach of the opposing team, what the deal was with the stack empty bottles in the Braves duggout. He replied, "That's the beer that made Milt Famey walk us." Parody on the advertisement: "Schlitz - The Beer That Made Milwaukee Famous." I didn't say it was funny - just that it was about Milwaukee (sort of :-) ****************************************************** ...
