Like most people, I've been watching what has been going on on the border.

I don't like to comment on political things, I haven't done that before here 
and I don't plan to do it again, but this has reached into my life and 
pierced my heart.

Children, especially small children, toddlers and babies, need to be with 
their parents.

Whatever possessed Trump to intentionally traumatize hundreds of small 
children to gain an upper hand in a political debate in Congress is beyond 
me. Who even thinks like that?

There must be something between wide open borders and traumatizing small 
children. I don't accept these are the only choices.

Children, especially small children, need to be with their parents.

This isn't just punishing the parents - it is harming the children.

These children didn't do anything. They're not gang members, they're just 
little kids.

These children need to be with their parents.

And claiming that the Bible supports this is blasphemous.

Yes, as Christians we should obey the law, but it's not a blank check for 
the government to do -anything-.

If we lived in Nazi Germany would we help round up the Jews and gas them 
because the government said so?

If we lived in ancient Rome would we help round up our fellow Christians and 
feed them to the lions because the government said so?

I think not.

Just as state law falls when in conflict with federal law, so I believe 
federal law falls when in conflict with divine law.

What the Bible really tells us is that God will smite Trump if he pursues an 
immoral path. Hebrews 10:30-31.

It is with great sadness I have to say this - but I think it is time we tear 
down the Statue of Liberty and sell it as scrap.

We used to believe that "Liberty Enlightening the World" was a great beacon 
of hope to a world suffering under the iron heels of authoritarian despots, 
dictators and thugs.

A great symbol of America itself - that the ideals we stood for were 
something good - something special.

Immigrants are a resource not a threat. They are our grandparents or our 
great-grandparents.

They came and made America stronger - better. They're not criminals - not 
then - not now.

But a new day is dawning in America - a dark day - a day ruled by fear and 
hate and we need to wake up to what's really happening.

Yes, tear down that "Mother of Exiles", that outdated piece of junk in New 
York harbor and throw her on the scrap heap of history along with all of the 
obsolete old ideals we once held so dear.

Her time has come and gone.
She served us well and would still, but she lives no more.
We have lost faith and betrayed her.

“Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe 
free, ...".
We've turned that into a cruel joke.

The "golden door" is shut, the torch has gone out and I doubt we will ever 
see it lit again. Let us at least end our hypocrisy.

Yes, tear down that eyesore. It just reminds us that we're not really 
Americans any more, we just live here.
