Hogan's Heroes TV Show 
When I was in High School I thought they should make a version of the show 
for Germany with all the characters flipped and call it "Hoganmeyer's 
Heroes".

Hoganmeyer would be a Luftwaffe pilot shot down bombing England.
Le'Beau an Italian chef, Neukirken an Austrian, Carterhof a Bavarian bumpkin 
and Kincheekeemo a Japanese (they always were good with radios :-)
Col. Klutz would be the camp commander near Wichita, Kansas and Sgt. Shucks, 
the big old Texan guard who sees nothing and hears nothing.

They would blow up bridges and sabotage U.S. military installations near the 
camp and smuggle defecting Los Alamos nuclear scientists and escaping Nazis 
out to U-Boats off the southern coast.

Doesn't seem all that funny now that I think about it.
Guess it depends on your perspective :-)
