This weeks theme: Harry Lauder Probably Scotland's greatest singer/comedian. (No? Name another one :-) He's been called "the first international superstar of popular entertainment". By the way, that weird language he's singing in is called "English" (well, sort of :-) He was very active during World War One promoting the war effort and fund raising for the British government and was knighted for it. He lost his only son, John, in the war in 1916. It is thought that he was "fragged" (intentionally shot) by one of his own men.
