Sex and booze and jazz - the 1920s version of sex and drugs and rock and roll. A friend of my Mothers back then had a cousin who was an actual "flapper", who drank and smoked and even drove a car and had a raccoon coat. They both thought she was the cat's meow! My Mother was exactly contemporary with "Bonnie" of Bonnie and Clyde fame (born in the same year). When I see the old newsreels it seems so ancient. Fortunately, my Mother didn't follow a life of crime and get gunned down in the 1930s, otherwise you wouldn't hear this song today. Worked out good for both of us I'd say :-)
