The Burning of Rome

In July of 64 AD during the reign of the Emperor Nero the city of Rome suffered its famous fire.

Could the early Jewish-Christians have started the fire?

"Do not suppose that I [Jesus] have come to bring peace to the earth; it is not peace I have come to bring, but a sword." Matthew 10:34

"I [Jesus] have come to bring fire to the earth, and how I wish it were blazing already!" Luke 12:49

If the Jewish-Christians hadn't started the fire, I suspect they wish they had.

The Roman Response

Whether true or not the Jewish-Christians were blamed for the fire.

The Romans must have seen this like we see The World Trade Center Attack of September 11, 2001.
