7:30 p.m., If you like walking, you'll love folkswalks: Donna Seline · An explanation of the "people's walking program," also known as "non-competitive walking," folkswalking, or volksmarching. Donna Seline, the president of the NorthStar Trail Travelers (NSTT), will explain where and how NSTT and its sister walking clubs worldwide make these non-competitive walking events available to the general public. nstt_logo Photo
Dancer1 7:45 p.m., Swing Dance Lesson: Paul Stachour · An introduction to the "East Coast Swing" dance. No previous dance intruction or experience required for this class. Lesson open to people from ages 8 to 108. No dance partner necessary (rotation will be used). You may also take the instruction with a partner of your choice, if you wish.
8:30 p.m., Variety Dance · Dancing Featuring mostly East Coast Swing Dances. Occasional Waltz, Foxtrot, Rhumba, Cha-Cha, Tango, Lindy-Hop, Salsa, others. Dance open to people of all ages. Music played from CD's by a DJ. Dancing from end of lesson until 10 p.m. Dancers
 

 
FolksWalk - Sunday, August 8
Starting at the Boat Landing behind the Park Office
Walker1 Sun, 8 a.m., NSTT FolksWalk A non-competitive marked-trail walk through portions of Scenic State Park. The walk begins at the boat landing, located behind the park office. There are three separate loops, each between 3K and 4K in length, totalling 10 kilometers. The total length of the walk is just over 6 miles, and should take a reasonably fit person about 2 hours. Cost is $2 per walker to cover NSTT's cost of materials Food and beverages available at the start-point. The cost for those participating in the IVV/AVA record-keeping program for events and distance is $3, and for the awards $8. Start anytime after 8 a.m.; finish by 3 p.m.
