Carley Folkswalk Saturday & Sunday, June 19-20 Co-sponsored by: Carley State Park Note: This will be an unstaffed event. A registration box with start cards, maps and walk directions will be located at the Monument park lot. You must bring your registration cards to Whitewater State Park on this weekend to get your IVV books stamped and receive your award. Because of this we recommend you walk Carley before Whitewater. Registration: You may start after 8 a.m. and finish by 3 p.m. Start/finish point: the Monument parking lot, just past the park office. The trail is 10K. The first loop from the Monument goes along the edge of the park on an old road up to the top of a bluff with the river below, past the pioneer camp and back to the monument area. The second loop takes you down along one side of the river and back along the other side to the start/finish area. Parts of the trail are narrow and rocky with some low spots to watch out for if it rains. Rated 3. The Award is a leather Monarch butterfly pin mounted on an embossed ribbon. Cost of the award is $8; IVV credit only is $3; walk only is $2. Additional $1 if award must be mailed. Pre-registration deadline is May 20 ... pre-registration is highly recommended. Water and restrooms are available at the start/finish area. We encourage walkers to carry water on all events! Contact: Bruce Gravelle, 651-457-5882 for event information.
