Scenic Folkswalk

Registration will be at the Boat Landing on Coon Lake, just behind 
the park office. You may start after 8 a.m. and finish by 3 p.m.

The trail is 10K and is made up of multi-loops on forest trails 
around Coon Lake, Chase Point and out to the bog walk and back. Not 
suitable for strollers or wagons. Rated 2+.

The Award is a leather bird pin mounted on an embossed ribbon 
featuring the Osprey, found at this park. Deadline for 
pre-registration is July 15 and pre-registration is recommended.

Cost of the award is $8; IVV credit only is $3; walk only is $2. 
Additional $1 if award must be mailed.

Water and restrooms are available at the start/finish area. We 
encourage walkers to carry water on all events!

How to get there: The park is located in Itasca County, seven miles 
east of Bigfork on County Road #7.

Group camping available Friday and Saturday.

Detailed Directions:  
 From the Twin Cities (about 215 miles, around 4 1/2 hours):
  US169 north to MN38 at Grand Rapids. MN38 north to Itaska Co 7
   at Bigfork.  Right on Itaska Co 7 south and east to Park.
 From McCarthy Beach State Park (56 miles, about 1 hour, 15 minutes)
  Exit camping area near Park ofice onto St. Louis County 65. Turn
  south, then east on 65 to County 5 at Side Lake. Left(north)
  on Co 5 to St. Louis Co 22. Left(west) on St. Louis/Itaska Co 22
  to MN65. Right(north) on MN 65 to MN 1. Left(east) on MN 1 to
  Effie. Left(south) on MN 38 to Co 7 at Bigfork. Left(East and south)
  on Itasca Co 7 to Scenic State Park.
  Both parks have maps for a shorter dirt road option between the parks.
 From Scenic State Park Group Camping Area(3 miles, about 5 minutes)
  Exit camping area on Lake of the Isles to Itaaca Counth 7.
  Left(northwest) on 7 to Park entrance, then right(north) to 
  Park Office.  The start point is located just past the park office,
  right, and down the hill to the Boat Launch.
