An Update!

No folks, you're not seeing things: for the first time in over a year this site has been updated! This is the first of what will hopefully be many updates and changes to the site as a whole.

Since December of  '98, I haven't had much time to devote to this site (or to game playing for that matter). If all goes well, that's about to change. In the coming weeks, I plan to revise this site into a reviews site that covers software for multiple platforms. Let's face it folks, the N64 is on its way out, and it is hardly the center of the current gamming universe. (I'm keeping the Mr. N64 handle though, since it's what I've used ever since I first connected to the internet.)

Don't get worried though, I'll still review N64 games if I feel there's a chance they may be worth looking into. I already have my deposit on the new Zelda game due out around the same time as the PS2, so you can count on a review of what could be the last great N64 game.

Other platforms that I hope to include are the PC, Dreamcast, PS2, and I'm seriously considering reviewing DVD movies. Unfortunately,  the software companies don't provide their products for me to review. This means that my choice of games for review will depend on which games catch my personal interest and which games I can afford to rent or buy on my own.. This should really only be a huge problem when it comes to the PS2, because the high cost of all the proper PS2 hardware doesn't leave much cash left over for software. Hopefully Blockbuster or Hollywood Video will rent PS2 games soon after the system's launch.

In other site-related news, I'm presently awaiting my copy of Windows ME to arrive. Once it's here, I plan to do a clean install, so depending on how that goes there could be a significant delay between this update and the next. I'll post a notice when I'm finished upgrading and I should be able to give a more concrete site timeline at that point. (and I'm even considering writing a review for the new OS as well :-).

As always, I'm very interested in you're feedback. I always read everything that's in my inbox, but please understand that I can't really respond to any questions or discussion requests.

In closing, I thank those of you who have continued to check back here over this long period of inactivity on the site. I will do my best to continue to provide you with reviews that I feel are in-depth and helpful.

Update 9/15/00:
I got the tracking number for my Win ME upgrade, and it should arrive on Monday. If the upgrade goes well, I could have a more complete update posted as soon as the end of next week! Also, I just want to clarify something from the above post: I'm more than happy to answer your e-mail questions if I can find the time, but please don't ask me about game codes or where you can find N64 ROMs. I don't have information on either of these toimages. Anyway, I really do appreciate any constructive feedback that you have!

Happy video gaming! :-)

-Mr. N64
