Mr. N64's Summary of Multi-Racing Championship (MRC)'s Story and Play Mechanics

Story:


There's no story per se, but after playing and seeing the funky cinemas, you may think that Herbie The Love Bug is having a family reunion.


Play mechanics:


MRC is a racing game in the style of Ridge Racer. Here's a summary of the Play Modes and Default Controls:

Play Mode Description
Championship Standar 1-player racing.
Time Trial Drive solo and try for a lap record.
Free Run Practice on the different courses and with the different cars without any time restrictions or competition.
Vs. Race a friend on any course.
Match Race Race a CPU opponent using one of the game's bonus cars. Beat the car on all three courses to gain the ability to drive the new vehicle. There are a total of two bonus cars that I am aware of.
Machine Setting Adjust you vehicles stats. Load or save car stats to a Controller Pak.
Course Setting Select a course, view its weather conditions and close off paths of the course (not always available).
Other Options There are option menus for sounds, analog configuration, Controller Pak data, etc. Almost all are self-explanatory.

Button Action
Control Stick Steer (Note: the Control Stick can be set up to be used as the gas and brake as well as the steering mechanism.)
A Gas.
B Brake.
Any C Button Change view.
Z Shift Down (manual transmission)
R Shift Up (manual transmission)
Start Pause and bring up a menu with several different exit options.
