Story:


Save Planet Bomber from invading, evil Bombermen and retrieve the all-powerful Omni Cube.


Play mechanics:


Bomberman 64's one-player mode is a kind of puzzle game in which defeating enemies and blowing up things reveals the way to the goal. Special Bomberman parts can be found and saved to a Controller Pak in the one-player mode. These parts can be used to customize the appearance of your Bomberman in the multi-player modes. Bomberman 64's multi-player games are all-out battles for 1-4 players (see descriptions below).

Here's a summary of Bomberman 64's Play Modes and Controls:

Play Mode Description
Adventure Mode The one-player quest against the evil Bombermen.
Single Battle (Multi-player) The last Bomberman standing wins the battle. The Bomberman that wins the most battles wins the match.
Team Battle (Multi-player) Try to destroy the red or blue gems of the opposing team. The team to win the most battles wins the match.

Control Stick Move/Aim throws
A Set bomb/Pump up a bomb you've picked up/Press twice to drop and kick a bomb
B Pick up/Throw/Catch a bomb that's already on the ground. Hold B while pressing A to pick up a new bomb before setting it on the ground.
Top C Zoom in (one-player only)
Bottom C Zoom out (one-player only)
Right C Rotate camera right (one-player only)
Left C Rotate camera left (one-player only)
Z Detonate a remote bomb
R Stop a kicked bomb
Start Pause.
