Hybridlinks (Updated 10/21/05)

There are many, many pages on the Internet with technical information about the Prius, so I won't waste time or server space attempting to do it better. The following links are highly, highly recommended for anyone interested in the Prius or hybrid cars in general:
1. The first owner site I found on the net was john1701a's page. I found his site when I was wondering about how the Prius would fare in a harsh Minnesota winter. I typed "Minnesota Prius" into Google and up popped his site. After seeing his photo with the Prius' temp sensor reading -13F, I had no more concerns about owning one in MN. This is an excellent place to start getting info on the Prius and hybrids.

2. Want to ride along on a test drive of a Prius? This page over at john1701a's site has a video available for download that will answer all your questions and show you first hand why the Prius is such a great car!

3. Yahoo Toyota-Prius user group/forum. The answer to just about any question you can imagine about the Prius can be answered by searching the archives here. You must make an account to access the forum, but you can use made-up info if you wish (my posts are under the handle "prius12000"). Were it not for this group, I would not own my Prius. It's as simple as that. There are also the following other Yahoo groups that can be joined for even more info about the Prius:

-Prius Modifications
-Prius Technical Stuff
-Canada Prius
-UK Prius
-Australian Prius
-Prius Friends II
-Chicago Prius
-Texas Hybrid

It truly is a global community!

4. Want to know how the unique parts in the Prius work? Graham's page has wonderful explanations complete with animated pictures!

5. Toyota Canada has sponsored a 2003 Prius in the Canadian rally racing circuit! I've made a separate page with all the details and links regarding this unique rally car.

6. Blue Planet Gas is low sulfur gas sold in Minnesota by Holiday stations. This low sulfur gas will prolong the SULEV capabilities of the Prius, and will lower emissions in general for any vehicle. Highly recommended!

7. On April 16,2003 Toyota announced the new redesigned 2004 Prius which will be available in fall 2003. The official site with information on the 2004 Prius can be found here. The new Prius is bigger overall and yet manages to be even more efficient -- all for the same base price!!! There is also a Yahoo group specifically for the '04 Prius here.

8. Toyota Europe has a fully interactive 3D polygonal model of the Prius available for online viewing. Go to this page to view it. Note: the required cult3d plugin should download automatically. (Note: page may be down as of 10/21/05)
