Toyota Prius Gran Turismo 4 Demo Review (Part 1)

About the Demo
At the 2004 New York Auto Show, Toyota handed out special preview discs of Gran Turismo 4 (GT4) for the PS2 featuring the 2004 Toyota Prius. Thanks to EBay I managed to snag a copy without the hassle of a trip across the country!

The disc is a scaled down version of a Japanese release known as GT4 Prologue (which features many cars in addition to the 2004 Prius and was meant to hold people over until the full version of GT4 is released later this year.) As you can see from the captures below, this is not a full product, and it is not the same as the Japanese release (which unfortunately can't be played on a US PS2 even if you could get a copy.)

The Controls are as follows:
During a Race
Left Control Stick: Steer
X: Pressure sensitive acceleration
Square: Brake
Circle: Parking/Hand brake (!?)
R1: Change view
L1: Front view of car while holding 		 During a Replay
Triangle: Zoom
Square: Toggle on-screen displays
X: Change replay view
Circle: Music off/on

Options Screens


Here you can select the proper aspect ratio of the TV and adjust the screen position to center the image.


Here you can select to use the traction control assist


Turn on/off the controller rumble feature.


If you are lucky enough to have the GT steering wheel, you can use it for the demo!
