For the eighth year upperMidwestCycling will post bicycle racing events.
We are now up to date thru the end of August. While I do watch the hits on some of these pages I again am debating whether or not there is a need for the calendar. Time and other commitments are the largest problem with this being a National election year. This year I will not have a September to December, 2004 page. Circumstances have come up that preclude doing that at this time. I may do some update work if there is sufficient demand and promoters from the midwest send me material.
This has been a one man job. I face a valve replacement some time in the future which has pre-occupied my mind as well. It is not going to be "if" but "when". Other obligations have also entered into the picture regarding this part of the website. If all goes well there will be a 2005 calendar but at this time even that is hard to predict.
I want to thank those of you from the midwest who have made use of this service. I have never asked for any contributions other than racing information and decent photographs. The former has come via the likes of Mike Hanley from USA Cycling as well as other sources. Once in a while a promoter or club has also sent me e-mail. But the majority has only used the site with very few contributing information. At this point anyone who wishes to help put the 2005 calendar together may click on the webmaster button below.
For those of you who have utilized this website for planning your racing schedule or for the information contained I thank you again for visiting and using the services. One thing that would be nice would be an occasional 'thank you" to the webmaster for the effort put in to this endeavor.
Finally: have a great, happy, peaceful 2004.
Larry
