Our latest Conformation Brags

Shocking up the Altered Showring!

With very limited showing since our arrival in Minnesota, Zap has done very well in the ring. She has consistantly done well in the American Bred class (plenty of pretty blue ribbons!), and since her big debut in the Altered ring, she has decided she REALLY likes showing and all the attention she gets!

Unlike a lot of nicely trained showdogs (oh, how I envy you, sometimes...), Zap doesn't always cooperate in the ring. She figures she's not really working and since this is just for fun, she can do as she pleases... so this sometimes means she behaves like a twit in the ring, true to her fun-loving, humorous Aussie ways. When she was a pup, she even smooched a judge on the top of his (balding) head instead of standing for examination (CKC, from the 6-9 month bitch class... she still went WB, BOBp and BOS that day...)

picture: Karen MacDonald, Zap going WB/BOW/BOB on a very windy day

Thans to Karen McDonald for the lovely picture and all that help with the stacking!
Zap has received numerous compliments about:
  • her flowing side gait and strong drive
  • her clean movement coming and going
  • her rear angulation and shoulder layback
  • her sharp, crisp color and markings
  • her clean reach and her presence in the ring
  • her intelligent and "spirited" expression
  • her great Aussie temperament and sense of humor (which shines in the ring!)
Zap is still growing into herself, true to her slow-maturing line. Her all around attitude, brains and beauty have made her a true example of everything this breed is capable of. All-around, well rounded, able-to-do-it-all dogs still do exist. Zap's the living proof.

Our Canadian Show Career:

It was more of a side-job than a career, since there were far more important things to do... training for work, evaluations for work, all that jazz! This being said, during her very short and very few outings in the ring, Zap has had multiple BOBp wins, BOB, WB, BOS wins as well. All of these from the 6-9month and 9-12 month class!

Though she did not have the heavy coat or bone often wished for in the CKC ring, Zap's stunning movement and attitude gained her many fans!
