Welcome to the Livewire Doghouse

Three dogs and a half, two people and a piano...

Welcome to the Doghouse! Joe and I share a house with three wonderful canines - two of which are working dogs. They all have very different personalities, even if they were raised in the same way, by the same people! Currently living in our house are:
HyFlyer's Lord Valen (n' part of an alphabet soup) "Valen", a patient and clever 7 and a half year old Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever with a heart of gold who works as a Multi-Assignment Service & Therapy Dog (specialising in work with kids with Cerebral Palsy and/or Autism of all degrees) Old man of the household, likes to complain about the emptiness of his food dish.
Defiance Static Shock, CGC, "Zap", an incredibly versatile 3 year old Australian Shepherd with warped a sense of humor and way too much brains for her own good. She's a whirlwind of a pup who is also turning out to be an outstanding Service and Therapy dog (specialising in work with kids with CP, Rett Syndrome and those recovering from orthopedic surgery). Lives for her frisbee.
Spanky the Wonderdog, our little BC/Sheltie rescue who has, for some reason, only the looks of both of those breeds and, for all intents and purposes, is a quiet, laid back, "pretends to be a rug" kind of guy. He's the good dog of the house. Hopes to become a therapy dog for seniors at a nearby assisted living facility. Thinks he's a cat.
Selah's Terror of the Seas "Pirate"... born September 5, 2004 at Selah Aussies in Arlington, WA. This puppy is a "Dash-of-Lizard" puppy. He joined our crew of crazies in November and has since taken over the household (well, he'd like to think so, at any rate... Lives for tummy rubs and trouble-making.
Agility Equipment!. Up for sale, available to order, always affordable basic agility practice equipment. If you don't see what you're looking for, let us know!
... and a piano. Dmitri deserved his own page, I suppose, since he was mentioned in the header. He, too, gets petted and groomed regularly... and goes through intensive training and is terribly patient about it. Demo-piano for young piano and voice students alike, deserves a UPX (Utility Piano Excellent).
